RAMOX – Multisection snow ploughs

ARVEL RAMOX series multisection snow ploughs are designed for medium to high snow thicknesses on roads in urban or outer-urban areas where the surface is irregular, damaged and/or cobbled.

Thanks to the extreme flexibility of the plough, allowing it to pass over obstacles of more than 10 cm without kicking back, the operator can work in utmost safety.


The plough is made from high elasticity limit steel with a special profile that perfectly discharges even large amounts of snow at high speed. It comprises 3 to 5 independent sections, the standout feature of this range of snow ploughs.

Every section comprises a system of wear-resistant polyurethane inserts offering high elasticity with the ability to deform so that they can pass over any obstacles encountered along the road and adapt to its imperfections. The advantage of this system is that it keeps the blade in contact with the surface to be cleared, where ever possible.

The plough frame is made from strong tubular steel and like all of our tools, these ploughs are shot blasted and coated with epoxy paint stove baked at 200°C and guaranteed for 2,000 hours in a salt mist.



  • The Hardox 400 steel scraping edge is ideal for aggressively working on hard or frozen snow. It ensures significant scraping action thanks to its positive angle of attack.

The base of the blade is secured by springs so that the cutters retract if they meet an obstacle on the road.

  • Polyurethane scraper

The polyurethane scraper works with a positive angle of attack of +45°. It is especially suited to high speed working as its geometry rolls the snow for a very high ejection rate. It is aligned with the polyethylene surface.

  • Dual scraping edges

Dual scraping edges allow fitting two different scraper edges onto the same blade. This combination allows working different kinds of snow with a single blade. A rubber scraper edge held in its working position by gas pistons can be placed right behind the main scraper along the steel blade.

The scraper blade is changed automatically thanks to a hydraulic tipping system controlled from the cab.

A central oscillation system come standard on all our ploughs. This system brings the blade back into the horizontal position when raised, freeing it completely to follow the road profile with the blade lowered in the working position. Thanks to this device, the scraping edge wears evenly.

Attachment plate

These are adaptable on all carrier types equipped with a front attachment plate F1 (SETRA), DIN or 3-point lifting hitch.


  • The up and down movements are performed by a double effect hydraulic cylinder. This cylinder has a flow limiter placed on the down side to regulate its down motion speed.
  • Orientation is achieved through two double effect hydraulic cylinders. A hydraulic mechanism is connected to the orientation motion. This mechanism comprises a by-pass valve that when it suffers a sideways impact, can move the blade away thereby protecting the driver from violent impacts.
  • The main articulations are fitted with grease nipples to ensure a maximum service life. All of the cylinders are mounted on ball joints.
  • The hydraulic couplers are compliant with standard NF EN 15431
  • Electro-hydraulic unit

If the carrier is not equipped with any hydraulics, then the snow plough vehicle is equipped with an electro-hydraulic unit (ensuring its autonomy), protected by a cover. This unit is mounted on the plough base plate and it is controlled by a control box in the cab. It has all of the necessary safety systems (pressure limiter, etc.)

  • Rapid attachment plate

To quickly fit the plough to the vehicle, it can be fitted with a rapid attachment plate. This allows all of the hydraulic functions to be connected simultaneously, avoiding the need for painstaking individual connections.

It can also include the electrical connections needed by the snow plough.

Hydraulic safety

  • A by-pass valve in the hydraulic rotation circuit absorbs the effects of side impacts.
  • An hydraulic locking mechanism for securing the blade while the vehicle is in a transfer phase and not in service. This stops the plough blade from moving as a result of an incorrect action in the cab or any system malfunction, thereby avoiding accidents. This mechanism can be fitted on:
    • The lifting cylinder to secure the blade when raised
    • The rotation cylinders to secure the blade on one side

Warning indications

ARVEL ploughs are compliant with applicable standards, with:

Class II reflective strips affixed to the plough blade and visible from ahead.

Two LED clearance lights mounted on the ends of the plough blade on a flexible mount (red LED facing back and white LED facing forward)

Two fog markers are placed on the ends of the plough blade on a removable base.

Auxiliary light kit

This lighting backs up the vehicle lights when the snow plough is mounted on the truck and connected to it (sidelights, dipped beam, high beam and direction indicators. These lights are mounted on a support to light the road (with the original lights being masked by the snow plough).

Easycom10 control box

Equipped with a joystick, the Easycom10 control box is used to position the blade using a CAN-BUS link.

The following adjustment settings are used:

  • Raise/lower blade
  • Aim blade right/left
  • Floating position
  • Lightened position
  • Tilting
  • Ground pressure
