Lateral edges

The lateral edges that widen the plough are most often used to complement a frontal tool (blade or V-shaped plough) to ensure a wider cleared trace along the road, as they remove the wedge caused by the blade itself. The overlap between the edge and the clearing width is some two meters.

Like all of our winter clearance products, the lateral edges are painted with a powder paint backed in a furnace to maximize their service life.

The shield

The high density polyethylene shield is mounted on the frame for lighter and higher performance blades. Even at very low temperatures, the snow and ice will not stick to the shield thanks to the very slippery polyethylene surface. It is corrosion resistant and very easy to replace.

The scraper

There are two types of scrapers compatible with the lateral edges:

  • Specific steel scraper (for abrasion, 400 Brinell hardness)
    • Ideal for compact snow or ice
    • Angle of attack: positive
    • Scraper with three separate parts
    • Shock absorption system with separate retractable springs mounted on every scraper element
  • Neoprene bi-shore (rubber) scraper
    • Ideal for soft or wet snow
    • Angle of attack: negative

Attachment plate

These are adaptable on all carrier types equipped with a side attachment plate F1 (SETRA) and may be fitted as required within the vehicle wheelbase on the left or right of the vehicle.

Hydraulics

  • The extension is opened and closed by a double effect cylinder
  • The extension is raised and lowered by a double effect cylinder

Tilting, a system for following the camber of the road to an angle of +/- 10° is provided by a single effect cylinder system.

Warning indications

ARVEL ploughs are compliant with applicable standards, with:

  • Class II reflective strips affixed to the upper, outer plough blade end and visible from ahead.
  • Two LED clearance lights mounted on the ends of the plough blade on a flexible mount (red LED facing back and white LED facing forward).
  • Two fog markers are placed on the ends of the plough blade on a removable base.

Easycom10 control box

Equipped with a joystick, the Easycom10 control box is used to position the extension using a CAN-BUS link.

The following adjustment settings are used:

  • Raise/lower extension
  • Open/close extension
  • Floating position
  • Lightened position
  • Tilting
  • Ground pressure
